Scantron has significant experience in the extrusion industry, with decades of know-how in performing online measurement of dimensions including width, diameter, length, profile, and more.
In-line, real time measurement and 100% control of tube, cable, hose or small flat extrusions can be achieved with the Xploreline, Extruline or Quadraline gauges from AEROEL. These gauges offer industry-leading repeatability and can be tailored to any production requirement with specialised software for flaw detection, process feedback, or real-time statistics. A range of interface panels ensures an easy operator experience.
Proscan MasterTrak is a continuous measuring solution for sheets, films and strips of plastic or foam extrusion. We can measure width, thickness, flatness or profile on a continual basis, with software bespoke to the industry in question. The MasterTrak requires minimal operator know-how or intervention thanks to its self-calibrating protocols.
Non-contact monitoring of speed and length is possible with Proton’s InteliSENS series of gauges. These are contactless replacements for encoder wheels and may be used to monitor line speed, trigger cuts and shears of the product, or measure discrete part lengths after the cut. A wide range of environmental housing, mounting and display options is available to tailor the system to a given application.
